I have to many stories to share and way to proud of the team to do it any justice on this blog. So, today I will share with you what we shared with our family and fans on senior day. We played with five seniors this year and five of the most incredible people I will ever get to know. Here is a little about them, please remember the contributions that these five have made over the past four years have been so numerous and impactful all won't be mentioned here. However, here goes......
Cymone Allen is a kinesiology major and Spanish minor from Normal, Illinois. She was an All-SCAC second team selection last year and honorable mention as a sophomore. Cymone ranks third in DePauw history with 29 stolen bases and has only been caught stealing four times. She has a career .342 batting average and ranks 10th in school history with 130 career hits. Cymone is one of two Tigers to collect five hits in a game and also one of two to hit three doubles in a game.
Haley Buchanan is a kinesiology major from Indianapolis. She was a third team all-region selection last year as well as a second team all-SCAC choice. She was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team at the finals each of the last two years. Haley set DePauw and SCAC records last year with 14 home runs and is tied for third in DePauw history with 20 career homers. She has hit two homers in a game four times and has a .303 career batting average. Her 95 career RBI rank sixth in school history and she drove in seven runs in a game last year.
Jen Kosinski is a biochemistry major and biology minor from Schererville, Indiana. She’s been named to the DePauw Dean’s List and twice made the SCAC Academic Honor Roll. Jen was a three-time first team all-SCAC selection and was named to the SCAC all-tournament team last year and to the NCAA Regional all-tournament squad all three years. A first team all-region choice in 2009, Jen was second team in both 2010 and 2011 and earned third team all-America honors as a freshman. She currently holds DePauw career records with 161 runs, 47 doubles, and 160 RBI. Her 205 hits rank second in school history as do her 24 career homers. Jen ranks third in school history with a .401 career batting average and set DePauw single-season record with 19 doubles last year. Twice she’s driven in seven runs in a game and four times has homered twice.
Rachel MacBeth is a biochemistry major and religious studies minor from Indianapolis. Named to the Dean’s List all seven semesters, Rachel was a three-time selection to the SCAC Academic Honor Roll and last year was the first DePauw softball player to earn Capital One Academic All-America honors when she was named to the first team. She was a first team all-SCAC choice last year and second team as a sophomore and was named to the SCAC All-tournament team in 2010. Rachel earned second team all-region honors last year and was named to the NCAA Regional all-tournament team. Last year she set a DePauw and SCAC record with 74 hits. Her 192 career hits rank third in school history and her .372 batting average is fourth.
Holly Paris is an art major and business administration minor from Covington, Indiana. She’s been named to the DePauw Dean’s List three times and to the SCAC Academic Honor Roll three years. Holly was chosen to the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team last year. Her 128 career hits rank 11th in school history, her 28 doubles are seventh and her six homers are ninth.
As a senior class, they’ve won two SCAC titles and finished third in 2010. They have appeared in three NCAA Championships. In their four years have been part of teams which have compiled a 130-41-1 overall record, a 55-11 home mark and 47-11 in conference games. They are 14-8 in NCAA Tournament games, finishing fifth in the nation in both 2010 and 2011.
